Naomi's Approach

Naomi’s approach is simple: provide mental health services to children and families by encouraging HOPE and pulling from each individual strengths.  By providing individual therapy to improve self-awareness and confidence, set goals, build communication and social skills, and reduce substance use and problem behaviors. Assisting parents to regain influence over their adolescent. Coaching and modeling to improve the family systems, problem-solving and increase feelings of love and connection within the family unit. As well as, improving access to community systems such as school and probation for decreasing barriers to treatment.

Therapy must always be tailored to the individual; there is no one-size-fits-all model. However, certain approaches have been empirically verified for use with a variety of clientele. It is critical that all therapist, especially those working with client populations that are oppressed, have both an overview of evidence-based practices and specific techniques related to these approaches in their clinical toolboxes to help them provide the best counseling services possible.
