About Me

                                                                        Naomi Burks, LMFT

Behavioral Health Clinician & Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist

When human beings experience trauma or severe life stressors, it is not uncommon for their lives to unravel. Growing up in the heart of East Oakland, Naomi’s life was filled with trails and tribulation. For these reasons her passion is bringing healing to people who have been through similar traumatic or stressful experiences. She helps her clients and families find healthy perceptions of themselves and strengthen their relationships so they can know themselves as peaceful, complete, safe and whole.

She understands no single approach is the right one for every individual, so she has been trained in a range of modalities including Relational Gestalt Therapy, Gestalt Play Therapy, Client-Centered Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Multidisciplinary Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and EMDR for the treatment of trauma.

Her educational background includes a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Holy Names University in Oakland, Ca.  She has a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a minor in Child Development from Kaplan University, and a Degree in Biblical Studies. Naomi is certified as a License Marriage & Family Therapist within the state of California.  Naomi’s focus is to provide quality service (as a HELPER) to the underserved population in the Bay Area.
